After entering text or uploading a file, GPTZero determines the probability that the document is AI-generated using information applied across several models, including ChatGPT, Bard, and human or human and AI-created works. Visit this site's FAQ section to find suggestions for educators on how to work with students when finding AI-generated text and ideas for reducing the risk of AI abuse by students.
In the Classroom
Bookmark and save this site when checking students' written assignments and as a resource for learning about AI-generated text with students. Ask students to include a copy of a response from GPTZero when submitting written assignments to demonstrate that the response is determined to be written by a human, not a chat tool. If your school or district doesn't have a policy regarding using AI generators, work with your students to create a classroom policy of proper use. After selecting a language, choose the link to the free podcasts and select one of the four learning levels starting with absolute beginners up to advanced learners. Then, subscribe to the language podcasts on your favorite streaming platform, including Apple, Google, or Spotify.
In the Classroom
Use this resource in world language classes and with ENL/ESL students. Include this site as a resource when students are working on a project about another culture. If you have students in world language, world cultures, or even language arts classes who need enrichment - send them to this site to learn the basics of a new language or to look for roots that show in English. Self-motivated advanced students or those planning a semester abroad can learn language basics independently here. ClassPoint integrates with PowerPoint and Windows operating systems using presentation tools, interactive quiz questions, and a gamified reward system. Use the presentation tools to highlight information, add annotations, open a whiteboard, and more. Turn your slides into interactive questions to share with students and receive immediate feedback through the responses. Use the rewards option to give or take away stars to students based on your preferences; students move through levels to receive badges by earning rewards. Download ClassPoint to your Windows device by following the directions and prompts provided. Free accounts offer up to a twenty-five-student class size, five questions per PowerPoint, three draggable objects, three saved classes, and basic gamification. ClassPoint is not available for MacOS devices at the time of this review; however, it is being looked at as an option, so Mac users might want to check back to see if it becomes available.

Use ClassPoint's tutorials after downloading this tool onto your compatible Windows device to learn how to add quizzes, create word clouds, upload videos, and use the other features available with ClassPoint. Take lessons beyond your typical slide show presentations using ClassPoint's interactive component to engage students and connect learning through multimedia presentations. Insert polls within your slides to gauge students' understanding of the content or ask them to respond to questions throughout the presentation. Students use the provided gameboard and instructions to complete their choice of challenge tasks in language arts, social studies, science, STEM topics, and the arts. Play continues until students land on the FINISH space.
In the Classroom
Share this activity with parents and students to encourage learning over the summer on your class website or end-of-year newsletter. Encourage students to share their activities and to remain active over the summer using interactive slide presentations made with Canva for Education, reviewed here. Create a topic for students to share their progress throughout the game and discuss how they complete tasks. For example, one of the coding activities challenges students to create a carnival game in Microsoft MakeCode, reviewed here. Ask students to share and discuss their game using Padlet, reviewed here, and compare their creations to those of others. This is a link to Padlet's Help section for posting video or an image.

Use the search bar to find a specific topic or select from educational, inspirational, by color, and additional categories. Next, click to choose a template from the thumbnails displayed to view a preview and directions for download. After saving the presentation to your device, edit and modify the contents as desired.

Take advantage of the many free templates available on Slidesacademy to use with your slide presentations and to share with students for use with presentations. Before sharing this site with students, discuss how to avoid the many ads on the site and provide directions on downloading and editing slides safely. Consider creating a "how-to" tutorial using a screen recording tool like Free Screen Recorder Online, reviewed here, to demonstrate how to search, find, and download templates. Another option is to select several appropriate templates for students to use with class projects and share the links within a collection curated in Wakelet, reviewed here. Personalizing instruction doesn't have to be complicated. Using an instructional playlist is a simple way to honor student voice and choice while structuring your students' independent work. This session will help you create playlists that integrate multiple types of activities while using incremental checkpoints. Of all the tools you can put in your blended learning toolkit, the playlist is one you don't want to miss! As a result of this session, teachers will: 1. Understand the purpose of instructional playlists; 2. Learn how using playlists can support student voice and choice; and 3. Begin planning an instructional playlist. This session is appropriate for teachers at all technology levels.

Hey! That's Mine! is part of the TeachersFirst Help! I Lost My Library/Media Specialist series reviewed here. It provides helpful resources and standards-based activities to teach students how to avoid plagiarizing information. Included resources are videos, games, and learning modules. In addition, there are several sources for creating citations. The extension activities share ideas for teaching the basics of citing resources to students as young as kindergarten.
In the Classroom
Take advantage of the suggestions provided in this article to discuss plagiarism and proper information citations at every opportunity. Use Padlet, reviewed here, to share resources with students to find and use easily. For example, create a row on your Padlet with links to citation generators, another row with videos that discuss plagiarism, and another row with links to games and practice activities.
