This is a collection of science and math lessons and web resources ranging from how the Internet works to nanoscience, engineering, biology, and principles of physics and chemistry. The content is predictably detailed, "real science" based on topics and phenomena that will interest students. These are the best of the best lessons and resources with applicability to lots of settings.
In the Classroom

This site allows you to create and print different types of graph paper in a PDF format. The site is easy to use and takes you through each step needed. First choose the type of graph paper from the eight different offerings including Cartesian (the most popular) and hexagonal. Next choose paper size, measuring units (inches or millimeters), then choose the paper created from the list offered. Just print after the graph paper is created.

Save the site as a link for quick printing of graph paper when needed. Provide the link to students and parents to use at home when graph paper is needed. Quickly print graphs onto transparency film to use on overhead projectors.

Introduce this site on your interactive whiteboard or projector, then allow students to explore on their own. Use the poems, photos, and other aesthetics as examples, then have students create their own Pi aesthetics to share on your classroom website or blog. This applet is perfect for practicing finding the area and perimeter of regular and irregular shapes. After a shape is shown, there are boxes to input the answer to the area and perimeter of the provided shape. Options are also provided to adjust the size of shapes, to allow only rectangular shapes, and to allow scoring. The learner portion of the site provides an overview of area and perimeter. Be sure to check out the instructor section for links to standards, information for classroom use, standards addressed, and links to similar resources. There is also a printable exploration questions worksheet that can be used in the classroom.
In the Classroom
