Visit the pictures portion of the site to find vibrant images that include discussion questions and writing prompts. Use the included filters to narrow the hundreds of images into text types such as poetry, descriptive, informative, and additional text types. The Choose Your Adventure section features picture prompts that engage students in collaborative storytelling as group projects. Navigate this section using the tags at the bottom of the page or choose from the different topics that take students on musical journeys, magic carpet adventures, and more.

SpeakPipe offers a widget to install on your blog, website, or podcast so readers and listeners can send you an audio message of up to 90 seconds in length. Other features for the free plan include recieving 30 messages per month, one Widget, and email notification. The message goes to your Speakpipe inbox, and you receive an email notification. You also receive a URL for the message that you could post on the blog or your podcast so others can hear the comments. Visitors click the "leave voicemail" button to access. Next, the visitor records a message for you. Visitors have the option of including their names and email addresses.
In the Classroom
When installed on a school website, SpeakPipe provides a good way for parents to leave voicemail messages. Unless one of you shares the URL, the communication remains confidential. Download messages to your computer as a simple way for students to record their voice responses for use in a multimedia project on your classroom blog. After posting student work on your classroom website or blog, allow students to record information responding or explaining each project. Encourage emerging readers to record their own voices reading a blog post they write. Auditory learners will truly benefit from this tool. Install this on your class blog or wiki so parents who visit can leave audio comments for the class. World language teachers could post an image on a class web site and ask students to record a response in their new language. Premiere Rush is an all in one app for creating, editing, and sharing videos. Download Premiere Rush and use it across any device. Access your work from anywhere with the site's cloud storage feature. Use your Adobe account to log in either on your computer or with the app for your mobile device. Create a project by importing video, images, or audio. Use the editing features to edit, add titles, transitions, and much more. Easily share finished projects using social media links. The free version offers three exports and up to 2GB storage. Be sure to check the system requirements necessary before attempting to install Premiere Rush on your computer.

Share Premiere Rush with students to use as an editing option when creating videos for any topic. If students are old enough, let them create their own account to take advantage of the free offerings. Upload videos and images from student projects or field trips to create a video to share on your webpage. Instead of a traditional research project, offer students the option to transform their learning by using Premiere Rush (or another video editing tool) to create a multimedia project. Unhangout is a free platform for connecting community-driven learning opportunities. Participants gather in the site's lobby at the time of the event, introduce themselves, and possibly view a short presentation or video together. After introductions, participants choose breakout rooms based on their interest. Breakout rooms hold up to ten participants at a time and open in a new tab so they can continue to add to the main chat if desired. Within the breakout rooms, conversations focus on a common topic and include options for members to use their webcam to discuss topics, view videos together, or work on a shared document. Following the event, participants receive an email with a transcript of the event and email contacts of fellow participants. Create your event by logging into your account and adding information including date, time, and additional hosts if desired. Other options enable you to set privacy options, allow follow-up emails, and provide for a custom URL.
In the Classroom
Unhangout offers many opportunities for classroom use and professional use. Use this site to introduce a topic, for example, the Civil War. After your initial introduction and discussion, enhance learning and ask students to choose a breakout session based on their interest - perhaps causes of the Civil War, battles, Civil War leaders, and cities. Within these sessions, have students share ideas on the focus of their learning and discuss how to divide up research and sharing of information. After the session, as students conduct their research, have them share resources using a collaborative Wakelet, reviewed here, stretching everyone's learning. Wakelet is a free bookmarking tool for sharing videos, documents, online resources, and more in an easy to view format. As students gather information, modify learning and use Timeline JS, reviewed here. Timeline JS offers the option to upload and add photos, videos, audio, Tweets, and Google Maps. After sharing group projects, challenge students to redefine their learning and share with their peers in a multimedia presentation using one of the many TeachersFirst Edge tools, reviewed here. Find free music for YouTube video backgrounds with Thematic. Thematic offers a large variety of content shared by original artists for free use on YouTube, Instagram, and other platforms. Browse the site to find or filter by genre, mood, tempo, and more. Save and organize selected music for your projects or download to your computer as an mp3 file. Copy the included information to credit the file's author within your presentation. Use your Google account to register as a content creator and connect your YouTube and other social media accounts.
In the Classroom
As you introduce this site to students, it is the perfect opportunity to remind students of the importance of providing proper credit when sharing media online. Share a link to Thematic on your class website for students to use when creating video presentations (with proper credit, of course). Ask students to create a slideshow using Renderforest, reviewed here, or other presentation software as a substitute for a written book report or research paper. For example, as students learn about states of matter ask them to find images on a sharing site like UnSplash, reviewed here, demonstrating the different properties and transformation of matter. Have students add text information to their slides and upload their slide presentation to YouTube as a video including background music found on Thematic. Be sure to have students include a slide with credits for all images and music included in their video. YiNote is a Chrome browser extension allowing users to take notes while watching online videos. After installing the extension, click the icon in your browser bar while viewing any video to bring up a box for adding notes. YiNote adds a time stamp to match the place in the video of saved notes. Return at anytime and click on your notes to go directly to that point in the video. One-click sharing allows the option to share notes via a direct URL or through links to social networking sites.

After installing the YiNote extension, add notes to any online video then share with students for viewing as part of your flipped classroom lessons. Use with videos that may be too long otherwise; have students go directly to relevant portions of videos and view with your guidance supplied in the note portion. Include a note for any video you ask students to watch, then have them share their answers in an online bulletin board creator, such as Padlet, reviewed here. Chances are your students grasp subjects differently and have varying levels of ability--so how can you better deliver instruction to reach everyone in class? Branching forms allow teachers to differentiate assessments and account for differences in pacing and outcomes. Join us to learn how to use Microsoft Forms to apply this strategy in your lessons. As a result of this session, teachers will: 1. Learn how Microsoft Forms can support differentiation; 2. Understand how to plan for a branching form; and 3. Learn multiple uses for branching forms. Preschool students will delight in the company of the Sesame Street characters at this long-time favorite site. Extend the fun from the television series, Sesame Street to fit into an individualized, interactive learning time. Dance, sing, clap, and play along with Big Bird, Grover, Elmo, and all of the characters to help develop and sharpen phonemic awareness and phonics skills. A variety of formats allow for many learning styles. Interaction with family members is encouraged and necessary in many of the activities given. There are games, videos, printables, ecards, and a family treasure hunt. A section for parent and teacher information gives ways to help students learn. A television show schedule is included. Experience hours of fun while learning.

Introduce PBS Kids Sesame Street into your classroom with instant enjoyment and success. Even students who have seen it at home will be delighted. Share this site on your interactive whiteboard or projector. Create centers to work with basic phonemic awareness skills and readiness skills. Individualize activities for students in the areas that they struggle. Add to your class website to provide enrichment or reinforcement.
