This five-part learning model provides guidance and support to educators as they tailor instruction to meet the many differing needs of their students. Module one begins with a short overview of differentiating the learning process and shares several technology tools to support successful differentiation. Other models discuss differentiating the learning environment, products, and content; the final module helps pull all the information together as part of a cohesive learning unit. Professional learning credits are available; follow the provided link to receive a link to the course assessment.

In the Classroom

Create games and animations with Wick Editor's open-source tools, available as beta downloads or browser editors. Visit the example page for tutorials, examples, and program references. Use filters on this page to find examples by difficulty level or type of animation project. The tutorial videos reside on YouTube. If your district blocks YouTube, then they may not be viewable.

In the Classroom

Wick Editor offers beginners and advanced participants opportunities to create animations and games. Share this site with some of your more "techy" students and allow them to explore and develop, then ask them to become experts and share their ideas with new participants. Use the examples to find ideas for incorporating animation into many different lessons. For example, ask students to create animated timelines, animate the growth of a plant from a seed, or use the popup activity to share interesting facts about famous people in history.

Next, have them select a template to use as a review for a concept just learned. Once they are familiar with creating an infographic, they can create one for a book report, organize a research paper or presentation, show what they know after a science or math lesson, as a literature circle presentation, and much more. Infographics are flexible and helpful for teachers and students.

Pi calls itself "your personal AI." It is a chatbot designed to understand your interests, needs, and goals and provide personalized feedback. As you begin using Pi, it asks what you want to discuss and provides suggestions, such as brainstorming ideas, practicing an extensive conversation, and learning something new. After entering the main space in Pi, you are also offered several conversation starters, and a recorded daily news brief is adjusted to reflect your interests from previous discussions. Registration isn't required; however, creating an account allows you to access previous conversations, participate in longer discussions, and enable Pi to personalize responses based on those conversations. As always, when using artificial intelligence tools, verify the information is accurate.

In the Classroom

Pi's terms of service state that it is not for children under 18, so this chat tool should only be used by adults. Because Pi provides conversation ideas, it is an excellent introductory resource for learning to use AI chat generator tools. For example, use the conversation starters to discover tips to share with your students for learning a new language, find jokes for your classroom, or look for tips on focusing. Start new conversations (known as threads) to ask for ideas that support your curriculum and teaching style. An example might be, "Give me ideas for projects for my 4th-grade students to do during a unit on plants using Universal Design Learning frameworks." After viewing the response, ask additional questions to find resources, further ideas, or ways to differentiate learning for different groups of students.

GPTZero detects whether a text is generated by an artificial intelligence (AI) product such as ChatGPT. After entering text or uploading a file, GPTZero determines the probability that the document is AI-generated using information applied across several models, including ChatGPT, Bard, and human or human and AI-created works. Visit this site's FAQ section to find suggestions for educators on how to work with students when finding AI-generated text and ideas for reducing the risk of AI abuse by students.

In the Classroom

Bookmark and save this site when checking students' written assignments and as a resource for learning about AI-generated text with students. Ask students to include a copy of a response from GPTZero when submitting written assignments to demonstrate that the response is determined to be written by a human, not a chat tool. If your school or district doesn't have a policy regarding using AI generators, work with your students to create a classroom policy of proper use. For example, share how students can use AI generators to clarify information misunderstandings or learn more about a topic before beginning a writing project. Consider using a screen recorder like Free Screen Recorder Online, reviewed here to create a video sharing examples and ideas on using chat tools and verifying human-created work using GPTZero.

Conker.ai is an online platform that can help teachers create online quizzes for students of all grades. Teachers can easily customize quizzes based on the topic, the number of questions, and the difficulty level. Questions can be multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, or a combination of both. Quizzes can be completed online using an access code or exported to a Google form. First, you must create an account with Google, which requires you to give access to your Google Drive.

In the Classroom

Teachers can input relevant topics or subjects for their students, select a suitable grade level, and specify the number of questions needed. Many different output languages make this an excellent resource for world language teachers. For example, enter a short reading passage of up to 1,200 words and generate questions from the selection in just a few minutes! You can also use your questions to create interactive activities or games using sites such as Nearpod or Kahoot that promote student engagement and enhance their learning experience.

Obtaining the transcript of any YouTube video is as easy as entering the URL and pressing go on this easy-to-use site. The transcript appears on the right-hand side of the screen along with the video on the left and includes several options for viewing the information. Click one button to copy the entire transcript, choose a video position and click the link to go to that portion of the transcript, or select auto-scroll to view the transcript in coordination with the video's content. If your district blocks YouTube, then the videos may not be viewable.

In the Classroom

Use this transcript creator in several ways to enhance student learning. Create a transcript to provide a written version of a video's content for hard-of-hearing students or those who will benefit from the audio recording and written content. Multilingual students may benefit from having written text to support video content. Provide a written transcript for students to use when watching a video to add notes and highlight important information. Share a copy of a video transcript in your learning management system for students to access when reviewing information for tests and quizzes. When working with videos that require in-depth discussion, consider copying the transcript into Fiskitt, reviewed here. Fiskett is a collaborative tool for annotating documents online. Ask students to highlight important information, add comments to clarify information, or use the included tags to label information as true or false.
