Goblin Tools provides single-task tools that support making overwhelming tasks more straightforward to complete. Magic ToDo, reviewed here creates step-by-step direction for any project, Formalizer converts text into different tones and styles, and The Judge analyzes the tone of a text. Additional tools include the Estimate that judges the time to complete a task, the Compiler turns a brain dump of ideas into a list of tasks, and The Chef takes a list of your ingredients and dietary constraints and suggests meals to make from what you have. Follow the directions for each tool to add a prompt or list of information, then click the blue button to receive the results.
In the Classroom
Bookmark this site for many classroom uses for both you and your students. Use the Formalizer to demonstrate how to change the text's tone, ask students to try adding a paragraph they wrote, and change the style. After creating the change, have students analyze how the wording changed. Use the Estimator and Magic ToDo as planning tools for longer assignments to help students determine a schedule to complete all work in the provided time. Use The Chef tool and ask students to add a list of nutritious ingredients to complete recipes when learning about healthy diets and nutrition. Bookmark this site on classroom computers for easy reference when working with Google products. Have students create their own support videos using a tool like Powtoon, reviewed here, or Clipchamp, reviewed here, for any technology issues that arise in your classroom. Remember, you can take screenshots (Printscrn button on Windows or Command+Shift+4 on Mac), and include those in a video. You will need to convert the screenshot to a JPG. This can be done easily and quickly using CloudConvert, reviewed here. The If/Then Collection is a free resource for finding and sharing images and videos of women related to STEM topics. Search the collection by media type, discipline, location, or ambassador name. Another option is to browse through the featured categories found on the home page, including topics such as sports, explorers, and hero videos. Then, share items by selecting the share icon located on each thumbnail image. The required prompt asks you to complete a short form before sharing. The form includes the user's email, the purpose for using the content, and the checkbox agreeing to proper use. Although items on the site are available for free use without crediting the photographer or videographer, proper credit is always encouraged when possible.
In the Classroom
Include this site with your other bookmarks for photo and video resources to use on any occasion. Consider using Symbaloo Edu, reviewed here, or Wakelet, reviewed here, to curate media resources to share with students. Narakeet offers text-to-speech creation with options for choices of over 500 realistic-sounding voices. Registration is not required; upload your script to begin. Choices include the design of text-to-speech audio or video from a PowerPoint presentation. After making your selection, take advantage of the available choices to select a language and voice. Then, either upload a file, copy and paste text when creating an audio file, or upload your PowerPoint presentation to create a video. When finished, download the converted file to your device. Free accounts offer you up to twenty projects with maximum uploaded file sizes of up to 10MB. Other restrictions apply to free accounts; this information is available on the pricing page.

Upload your Google Slide presentations to the Free Office Online Apps, reviewed here, and save as a PowerPoint presentation. Use this site with ENL/ELL students to convert small pieces of text to their native language. Use this site with students who have difficulty reading, especially when working with more challenging passages and text. Join us to explore, compare and contrast three tools that can be used to maximize your "computer station" time when using the rotation model. Learn about the features of each tool and understand how to add them to your instructional toolkit. As a result of this session, teachers will: 1. Learn about the station rotation model; 2. Share ideas on ways to differentiate using station rotation; and 3. Plan to use station rotation when delivering instruction. This session is appropriate for teachers at all technology levels.

After creating an account, the first step is designing or choosing lessons from SchoolStack's library. Lesson options include adding exit tickets or making tasks optional or required. Next, add assignments to a "stack," like creating a choice board of activities. Then, assign stacks to a whole class, groups, or individuals. Dashboards for students, teachers, and caregivers track students' progress throughout their lessons. Free accounts offer limited stack creation, limited access to the lesson library, and the ability to add one teacher collaborator.

Collect data in your classroom and quickly create a graph to represent it. Share through links or adding images to blogs, wikis, or websites. Graphs can also be shared on an interactive whiteboard or projector for better analysis of data by the class. Graph results of a test, answers from students, favorite foods, fictitious budgets, class schedules, and whatever else is applicable in your classroom. Use the pie charts students create to teach their peers how to read charts that accompany informational texts. Have cooperative learning groups create their own graphs to share with the class on the class wiki. Share them with students, so they will understand what they need to do to participate successfully in a discussion or debate. Are there no issues at hand? Try finding one using Code Switch, reviewed here. At Code Switch find award-winning journalists from a variety of races to share their perspectives on current issues. Try giving students a choice! Show them several subjects and use Dotstorming, reviewed here, to comment and vote on topics for the discussion. Use the opportunity to hone students information literacy skills by reviewing how to evaluate and cite sources. Once they have researched their topic, and are ready to discuss, use a tool such as Thinkalong, reviewed here, to practice their discussion and argument strategies. QuestionWell uses artificial intelligence (AI) to generate multiple-choice questions, learning objectives, and essential questions based on your text. Begin by signing in using your Google account, then add a topic, select a language (QuestionWell responds in over a dozen languages), and paste an optional reading passage. Leave the reading passage blank for QuestionWell to write a passage for you. When ready, click "Generate Set" to generate a set of multiple-choice questions and the reading passage if selected. Choose all questions, remove unwanted questions, or add your questions before sharing them with students. When ready, use the export link to print your quiz or share it with several sites, including Quizizz, reviewed here, Google Forms, reviewed here, and others. Free accounts allow members to copy and paste reading passages of up to 1,000 words and create multiple-choice questions.
In the Classroom
Use QuestionWell to create review questions based on your selected reading materials, or let QuestionWell generate text based on your topic to use as an introduction to upcoming lessons. For example, as an introduction to an upcoming unit on the solar system, ask QuestionWell to generate questions about the solar system and include your grade level. Use the provided questions and personalize them as needed, then share the questions and reading passage to engage students in learning about your upcoming topic. Use the essential questions generated with your topic as a starting point for extending learning through project-based learning opportunities.
