This site allows you to create and print different types of graph paper in a PDF format. The site is easy to use and takes you through each step needed. First choose the type of graph paper from the eight different offerings including Cartesian (the most popular) and hexagonal. Next choose paper size, measuring units (inches or millimeters), then choose the paper created from the list offered. Just print after the graph paper is created.

In the Classroom
Save the site as a link for quick printing of graph paper when needed. Provide the link to students and parents to use at home when graph paper is needed. Quickly print graphs onto transparency film to use on overhead projectors.

In the Classroom
Introduce this site on your interactive whiteboard or projector, then allow students to explore on their own. Use the poems, photos, and other aesthetics as examples, then have students create their own Pi aesthetics to share on your classroom website or blog. This site provides practice with probability through the use of dice and spinners. After choosing an option of dice or spinner, the number of spins (or rolls) can be selected. Players can also create their own dice (for example, only using 2 different numbers instead of 6). A tally of results is provided within the activity. The learner portion of the site provides a short overview to probability and its uses within the real world. The instructor portion contains links to standards and some textbooks, an overview of use within the classroom and links to similar resources.

In the Classroom
Use this site as a learning station or center. Have students predict outcomes of coin tosses or dice rolls before completing the activity and compare the results to their prediction. Compile all of the students outcomes into one large class graph, table, or tally and compare that information to their predictions and the probabilities of each outcome. Create a class graph (online) to share the results using a site such as Crappy Graphs reviewed here. This applet is perfect for practicing finding the area and perimeter of regular and irregular shapes. After a shape is shown, there are boxes to input the answer to the area and perimeter of the provided shape. Options are also provided to adjust the size of shapes, to allow only rectangular shapes, and to allow scoring. The learner portion of the site provides an overview of area and perimeter. Be sure to check out the instructor section for links to standards, information for classroom use, standards addressed, and links to similar resources. There is also a printable exploration questions worksheet that can be used in the classroom.

This site provides practice with patterns, relations, and functions through the tale of the the Tortoise and the Hare. The amount of the tortoise's head-start can be changed, then take the racers through the various stages to find out who wins! Students will enjoy predicting the winner while watching the race unfold. The instructor's section provides detailed information on standards addressed, classroom questions, and links to similar resources. There is also a link to downloadable exploration questions that can be used in conjunction with the site.
In the Classroom
Provide students with a copy of the explorations questions to complete alone or with a partner. Use on your interactive whiteboard for a quick 5 minute filler, change the amount of the tortoise's head-start each time to offer different outcomes each time.
