Unscreen quickly removes the background from your videos and inserts a new background if desired, all without requiring registration. Upload your video clip or search Unscreen's GIF library to begin. Once the background is removed, click the link under the image to change the background by selecting from the image library or uploading a photo from your device. When finished, download your video clip as a PNG, animated PNG, or single frame. Free accounts limit clip lengths to five seconds.
In the Classroom
Bookmark this site for many classroom uses. Combine a video clip of students with other resources using various tools, including Google Slides, reviewed here. Choose a background image of a city being studied, a different historical period, or a far-away setting like the moon, then place your student video on top. Include your new slide as a starter for class projects. Use images on top of book covers for book talks, create images for story characters and heroes, or use them to create local weather reports. Designing effective and productive chatbot prompts requires understanding how generative AI tools work. This site provides many time-saving prompts for educators' and students' needs. The prompt library is broken into several categories: assessment, lesson planning, and communication, and the prompts work with GenAI chatbots, including ChatGPT, reviewed here, Claude, reviewed here Perplexity reviewed here, and others. Each suggested prompt also includes examples and suggestions for modifying the prompt to fit individual needs.

Bookmark and save this terrific prompt library for any number of uses when using generative AI chat tools. Find ideas and activities for lessons, quickly create and edit assessments, and develop rubrics. Consider using a curation tool such as Wakelet, reviewed here to bookmark this site and others that provide AI resources and to collaborate with peers on how to use AI resources. Be sure to visit the student prompts on this site that share resources for creating flashcards, translating text for multilingual learners, and other helpful study resources. 1865 is a thirty-seven-episode podcast provided over two seasons that begins in 1865 with the country in turmoil over the death of Abraham Lincoln. Season one tells the story of the manhunt for John Wilkes Booth and takes listeners up to the trial of Mary Surratt. The second season guides listeners through the conflicts between Edward Stanton and Andrew Johnson. The final three bonus episodes tell the final story of John Wilkes Booth and contain adult themes and strong language.

Engage students in American history by sharing some or all of the podcast episodes as an introduction to the events surrounding the assassination of Abraham Lincoln; however, verify that the final three episodes are appropriate for your students before assigning them. An Educator's Guide to Orange County provides many lesson plans and resources based upon Orange County's efforts to share information responsibly and work towards social justice. Although created with a focus on Orange County, many lessons are adaptable for use with students in any location. In contrast, other lesson plans can be used without adapting to local needs. Most lessons include a PDF containing lesson information and a slide presentation; others include graphic organizers and student handouts. The resource portion of the site consists of walking maps, links to local archives, and social media projects. Lesson plans include correlations to Common Core and Social Justice standards.
In the Classroom
Use these guides as created or adapt the lesson plans to develop social justice lessons based on your local history. Choose "find papers" to ask a research question and receive results that include a summary and links to supporting facts. Select "Extract data from PDFs" to upload a document from your device, then select the document(s) to view a summary. The final tab allows you to search papers to find a list of concepts, such as solutions to damage to the rainforest from climate change. Free plans offer members 5,000 one-time credits. Elicit uses artificial intelligence (AI) as part of its information-gathering process; be sure to verify the results for accuracy.
In the Classroom
Use this site as a starting point for more extensive research projects or as a tool for summarizing large documents. For example, if students are studying climate change, use the final tab to find a list of concepts related to climate change solutions, then ask students to choose one concept to develop into a research project. Imagine automatically creating a video from a written description. That's a fantastic prospect, and it is now possible using the magic of Invideo AI. invideo AI turns your ideas into videos in just a few short minutes. After creating an account, select the link to make a video. In the chat space, describe in detail and provide instructions for completing the video using up to 3600 characters. After adding the description, choose the button to generate the video and wait for the magic to happen. Creating videos will take a few minutes. Once your video is generated, use the available tools to regenerate if changes are desired, or choose to export the video when ready. Download the video to your device in mp4 format and select from the available options for video quality. Share videos with students from your device, using the provided link, or export videos to YouTube, reviewed here. Free accounts offer ten minutes per week of video generation, 10 GB of storage, and four exports weekly with the invideo logo. As always, when using artificial intelligence (AI) tools, verify that all information is accurate before sharing it with students.

Enroll in the free, self-paced course to learn about text set design and how to use text sets to build student knowledge and vocabulary in any subject. Visit the links at the top of the site to find downloadable text sets categorized by elementary, middle, and high school. Within each category, the text sets are then organized into grade levels. Download a planning guide with links to resources and activities for each text set offered. In addition, each set includes separate links to additional resources such as student work samples, KWL charts, and more. Remember to visit the Support for Struggling Readers section to access rubrics and ideas to teach text structure, language features, knowledge demands, and purpose/meaning.
In the Classroom
This site is worthy of inclusion in virtually all teachers' toolboxes. Use the text sets to support literature instruction using the resources provided. Find materials to differentiate learning for all students by browsing through the different grade-level offerings to find materials that meet the needs of students who need additional support and resources that challenge gifted learners. EduEase automatically creates multiple-choice quizzes from any PDF document using artificial intelligence (AI). Begin by uploading your document and then wait for it to process. After processing, click on the document's title to open the quiz. Use options to add questions, delete, or edit content. Share your quiz in several ways, such as copying the share link, using the provided QR code, or exporting it to Moodle. EduEase records results as students post responses for use in analyzing student responses.
In the Classroom
Use EduEase to create quizzes as a formative assessment to guide instruction quickly. For example, set-up a short quiz based on your end-of-unit assessment to determine your student's current understanding of the material, focus on content that needs to be learned, and differentiate instruction as needed. Share EduEase with students to review study materials and prepare for tests. EduEase currently only accepts PDF documents; use Tiny Wow, reviewed here to easily convert images, PowerPoints, Word documents, and more to PDF documents.

DesignCap provides a quick and easy infographic maker for you to use. No expertise in graphic design is necessary. First, create an account with Google, Facebook, or your email. Next, choose "Infographic" from the left menu. You can then choose the format of infographic you wish to create, such as Process, Timeline, Health, and several others. Once you have the format you want, choose "Customize." You can select a different font and size, upload images from your computer or their library, change the background, and more. When finished, save your infographic to work on or view later or download it to your computer.
In the Classroom
Introduce DesignCap's infographic templates found on the left menu. Ask students to select one that appeals to them, and then create one as a class for a concept you just learned or as a review for a test. Show on your whiteboard or with a projector how to select a template or create your own, where to find the image library, and how to upload your own images. Once the class has saved the infographic, you can have them create infographics on their own to include in multimedia reports, as a book report, as a study aid for a test, or to show what they've learned from a unit of study.
