Create and share timeline infographics using the intuitive tools and templates available from Canva or start from scratch to create a unique design. Make your selection easier by opening the dropbox on the left menu to narrow options to the free templates. Another option allows you to choose the color of the design. After selecting a template, add or change text, images, backgrounds, and other design elements. Next, upload your images or choose from Canva's image library. Canva's drag and drop features make it easy to personalize any design quickly. When finished, share the link for others to view or download as an image or PDF file.
In the Classroom
Timelines aren't just for dates and events! Use the templates found at Canva to create timelines showing the different stages of the growth of flowers, lay out the step-by-step process of lab experiments, and more. Create a timeline to share with your students that includes deadlines and a time frame for long-term projects or defines the semester's syllabus. Ask students to create timelines as part of a book report that creates a visual look at important events in the story. Create a free account to record unlimited videos for free. Download Vmaker to your computer or install it as a browser extension following the directions upon signup. Once the extension or download is complete, access the included features to choose settings and begin recording. When finished, your video is available to edit or share. When ready to share, download the video to your device, copy the link for your video, or share by email.

Work as an individual or invite others into collaborative projects and discussions using Circlyapp. Register for an account using your email to begin a blank project or choose from shared templates. The shared templates include ideas for book reviews, character maps, and a drag-and-drop opposite adjectives game. After creating a project, use the link to share with collaborators. Free accounts allow you to save up to 30 projects and download completed activities as an image.
In the Classroom
Share Circlyapp on your whiteboard or screen when remote teaching as a visual tool for organizing and discussing any topic. For example, use the character map template as a starting point for discussions of actions and character traits of essential characters in any story or to analyze noteworthy people in history. Collaborate, share, teach, and interact with students using Whiteboard.chat. Use the teaching mode to create, assign, and teach live lessons. The teaching mode also includes uploading a multipage PDF document and assigning multiple pages as workbooks to individual students. Use the collaborative method to work within a collaborative workspace with other users. After entering the teaching mode, use the toolbar to access drawing tools, upload images and documents, and manage the look and content of your board. Once students enter a whiteboard session using a shared code or link through Canvas or Google Classroom, they can download any shared workbook pages. Student tools include an area to raise their hand to receive help, request a break, indicate work is finished, or request to speed up or slow down the lesson. Observe students using the grid view that provides a thumbnail view of individual student whiteboards. Additional features include a timer, a list of participants, options to create breakout rooms, and settings to lock students from updating boards prematurely. Registration isn't required; however, it allows you to manage and save boards for later use.

IdeaBoardz is an easy-to-use a collaborative whiteboard created for brainstorming and sharing ideas. Instead of starting with a blank board and adding information, IdeaBoardz provides several options for creating boards from templates. Choose to create a board, add a name and description to begin. Use the dropdown box to select the type of board from choices such as pro and con or creating from up to ten sections. Next, share your board using the URL provided. Finally, participants select the plus sign located next to a heading to add a sticky note and type comments. Registration is not required; however, creating an account allows participants to revisit saved boards.

Use IdeaBoardz as an engaging way to brainstorm ideas, share student comments related to any classroom conversations, or as a tool for exit tickets. For example, use the two-column option as a schema activator when introducing a new lesson. Design and share high-quality comic strips using the many free templates from Canva's Comic Strip Templates. Choose from numerous colorful designs in various formats, including single strips or comics with multiple frames. Begin by clicking Create and using the dropdown box to find free templates for comics, narrow choices by color if desired. After selecting a template, choose the link to customize. Each template includes several pages that form a complete cartoon, a blank frame, and illustration sets to enter with your design. The share option offers the ability to share creations with others and allow them to edit the comic. When complete, download your finished cartoon to your device as a PDF file or PDF, JPG, or GIF image.
In the Classroom
Engage students by using the templates to display the day's vocabulary word, the math puzzle of the week, a concept your students are learning in social studies or science as an example. Have students create comic strips for dialog-writing lessons, summarizing, predicting, and retelling stories. Use comic strips for literature responses. For pre-reading students, create a comic of pictures and tell the story based on the pictures/scenes. It's a good idea to require students to create a rough draft of their comic using Printable Comic Strip Templates, reviewed here. Make a class book of the comics created throughout the year. That book is likely to become a class favorite! Use comics to show sequencing of events. When studying characterization, create a dialog to show (not tell) about a character. Have you seen stop motion videos and wished you and your students knew how to make them? Wish no longer! Cloud Stop Motion provides all of the tools you need without downloading software, and you can use it on any browser. Choose start and allow access to your device's camera to enable the camera to take pictures of items to use in your videos. Follow the instructions to add images, video, text, and sound. When complete, export your video to your device as an MP4 video file or create a free class or school account with Cloud Stop Motion to save up to 2GB in video files. Class and school accounts also offer members the ability to create unlimited student accounts and student groups.

Blooket is a digital review game built for classroom use. Educators create game sets, and students join on their device to play a variety of game options using the provided code. Games include options for solo or group play. Build sets using your own questions or search Blooket's library to find games created by other educators. Save favorite sets to your account for later use, then duplicate sets and edit to fit your needs when ready to play. Blooket also offers the option to import quizzes directly from Quizlet, reviewed here. As students join a game, they choose a Blook, a character that serves as an avatar. When ready, choose the "host" option to begin play by selecting a game mode and following prompts. Some games offer the ability to assign homework, allowing students to complete the game within the selected time frame.

After selecting to download the images, all files are saved to your computer in a zip folder, open the folder to access all of the shared items. All images are in PSD format for use with Photoshop. ClickUp is a task organizing tool that offers the option to integrate information easily from other productivity applications and to collaborate with others. After creating an account, follow the prompts to create lists, folders, and tasks. Create task lists for projects and use labels to prioritize jobs, import a calendar, add and assign items to collaborators, and much more. Learn more about using and organizing ClickUp by viewing the On-Demand Demo videos found in the Learn tab. Free accounts include up to 100MB storage with unlimited tasks and users.
In the Classroom
Use ClickUp to organize your professional life and share it with students to manage their academic and personal needs. Any student would appreciate having an online time management account, but learning support students and disorganized gifted students need one. You may want to model using this online tool to help middle and high school students learn personal organization. Make a demo account for a mythical student and organize his/her academic and individual needs together so students can see how it works. Share this site on your interactive whiteboard or projector the first week of school to help students set-up their own accounts. ziplet is a free student response system that works on all devices. Use ziplet to send questions to students instantly or schedule them in advance. After registration, follow the steps to create a group, invite students, and ask questions. Choose from different options for student responses, including multiple-choice, short answer, emoji reactions, or a scaled score from 1-7. Invite students into your group using the provided code. Students use their Google account to login and access questions. Upon receiving responses, Loop provides options for responding to students. Free accounts allow two teachers to use the application with three groups and 50 students per group.
In the Classroom
Use ziplet to engage students throughout your lessons and to provide feedback on student understanding. ziplet is also perfect for use as an exit ticket response or use as an informal formative assessment. As the title states, this site converts PDF documents to Excel documents. Upload a file of any size from your computer, Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive without having to create an account. Files remain on the site's server for six hours before being automatically deleted. Once converted, all information imports into an Excel file, and any tables in the original document become fully editable and formatted. The conversion speed depends on the file's size and server speed; our practice document was ready to use within a minute.
In the Classroom
Keep this site handy to use in a variety of situations. For example, many student worksheets available with textbooks are in PDF format. PDF files are the most common type of document available, take advantage of this conversion site to extract information and explore different scenarios using the original formulas. Science teachers can take lab activities and refine questions or add instructions as needed for their classroom. Save student grades in a PDF document and then convert to Excel to understand individual assignments' impact on the overall grade.
This resource requires PDF reader software like Adobe Acrobat.

Wooclap takes smartphones into the classroom for use as an interactive learning tool. Use Wooclap to ask multiple-choice questions, polls, and ask students to locate areas on images. Use the messaging feature to gather and display messages from participants. Wooclap also features options for add-ins to include PowerPoint Slides, Google Slides, PDF's, and more. Free Wooclap accounts allow users two questions for up to 1,000 students; however, it is free for educators in K12 by following the directions found here. Create an account to begin, then add an event. Choose the type of activity from the provided options such as a poll, open-ended question, word cloud, and more. Share your activity using the event code or link created for it.
In the Classroom
Use Wooclap to engage students in learning while gathering feedback in real-time. Start a lesson by asking students to respond to a prompt about the upcoming information. For example, at the beginning of a math lesson on geometric shapes, share a picture, and ask students to share a thought on what they see in the image. Use the poll feature as an exit ticket and ask students to share their comfort level in understanding the lesson. Are you finding that your students are losing interest in a topic? Zight (formerly known as CloudApp) is a screen recording tool with features for collaboration and integration with other cloud-based tools. After downloading Zight, follow the directions to install and use it on your device. Use the included tools to trim and cut videos or create GIFs. When finished, save and generate a link to your clipboard. Other features include the ability to do real-time annotations while you are recording your screen and editing tools to trim and cut recordings. Zight integrates with Slack, Microsoft Teams, and others. Free accounts offer one user up to twenty-five items with ninety-second recording times.
In the Classroom
Download and use Zight in many ways in all classrooms. Make screen recordings to share how-to information on navigating websites. Use the annotation tools to highlight important information and the location of website tools. Have students use Zight to share their screens when facing difficulty using sites. Create collections of videos for students to access, including instructions for logging in to various websites, searching effectively, or sharing information digitally.
